Joint Classes
We know that painful joints can disrupt your normal routine and affect your quality of life. And we know that as soon as you’ve had joint replacement surgery, you’ll be anxious to get back to the activities you love.
By providing all the important information you’ll need about your surgery and recovery, our joint class will help to ensure you’ll recover as quickly as possible. That’s why attendance (by the patient and the caregiver) is required before the surgery takes place. Classes are led by Premier Health physical therapists and nurse patient navigators whose role is to guide you through every step of surgery and recovery.
Here’s What You’ll Learn
- How to prepare for your upcoming surgery
- What to expect before, during, and after surgery and during your hospital stay
- What to expect and what to do to continue your successful recovery at home
The casual classroom approach allows time for questions and answers. Expect the class to last two hours. Classes are offered at numerous Premier Health facilities; days and times of classes vary.
Once your surgery is scheduled, your surgeon’s staff will work with the nurse patient navigators and hospitals to ensure that you get registered for a joint class that is most convenient for you.
