Trauma Education Programs

Premier Health’s Trauma Services and EMS Center of Excellence help trauma professionals stay up-to-date on their knowledge and skills. Our trauma education programs include:

Trauma and Critical Care Update

Trauma and Critical Care Update is designed to provide current information on the challenges healthcare professionals encounter when caring for critically ill or injured patients.

Advanced Trauma Life Support Course

Developed by the American College of Surgeons, this workshop is offered four times a year and teaches doctors, nurses, medical residents, and EMTs to assess and manage trauma cases through:

  • Practical lectures
  • Skill stations

Trauma Nurse Core Course

This 16-hour course and an eight-hour re-certification course is offered four times a year and at other times at partner hospitals by request. Both use a standardized curriculum. The course is for:

  • Trauma and emergency nurses with at least six months of experience
  • Nurses with little emergency experience who want knowledge and hands-on experience at psychomotor skill stations

All participants must be registered nurses. Attendees get CECHs (continuing education contact hours) for attending.
