U.S. News & World Report

Rehabilitation Nationally Ranked By U.S. News & World Report 2022
Among all hospitals nationwide, Atrium Medical Center was ranked 50th in the nation for rehabilitation services, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The hospital also achieved a “high performing” designation from U.S. News & World Report in the following 3 areas in 2024:
- Heart attack
- Maternity care (uncomplicated pregnancy)

Healthgrades Awards
Healthgrades is an independent organization created to help consumers understand, compare and evaluate hospital performance. They provide objective, comprehensive information about hospital quality in America's hospitals. Healthgrades evaluates hospitals solely on clinical outcomes—risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications. They recognize the top-performing hospitals in the nation that have achieved excellence in particular specialties, clinical excellence, and patient safety.

Atrium Medical Center, City of Middletown Division of Fire Honored with Ohio's First Pediatric Save Award for Exceptional Emergency Care
March 2024 – Medical staff from Atrium Medical Center and the City of Middletown Division of Fire are the recipients of Ohio’s first Pediatric Save Award, given by the Ohio Emergency Medical Services for Children (Ohio EMSC) State Partnership Program. The award, recognizing clinical excellence by EMS responders and Emergency Departments during pediatric emergencies. The City of Middletown Division of Fire and Atrium Medical Center provided critical care to twins born prematurely at home and their mother.
Atrium Medical Center Receives 2024 Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award
Atrium Medical Center has received the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s 2024 Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospitals’ commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence from the American Heart Association (AHA). Additionally, Atrium Medical Center also received the 2024 Target: Type 2 Diabetes, receiving this recognition for providing this critical high-risk population the most up-to-date, evidence-based care for diabetes when hospitalized with cardiovascular disease or stroke.
Accreditations and Designations

The Joint Commission Accreditation
Atrium consistently earns the highest level of accreditation from The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest health care accrediting body.
Primary Stroke Center Certification
Atrium’s stroke program is one of only 18 hospitals in the state to be certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, earning the Gold Seal of Approval™ for stroke care.
Senior Emergency Center First in Cincinnati Area to Earn Accreditation
October 2019 – The Senior Emergency Center at Atrium Medical Center has received accreditation from The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
With the bronze standard Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA), Atrium is the first hospital in the Cincinnati area and one of only five hospitals in Ohio to achieve a GEDA honor.

Premier Health First in Ohio, Second in Nation to Achieve System-Wide Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation
October 2023 – Premier Health has again been awarded a system-wide Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This distinction recognizes emergency departments that provide excellent care for older adults. The health system previously achieved this accreditation in 2020 and was the first system in Ohio and the second in the nation to do so.
The bronze standard Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation applies to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital Austin Boulevard Emergency Center in Miamisburg, Miami Valley Hospital Jamestown Emergency Center in Jamestown, Miami Valley Hospital North in Englewood, Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, and Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy; and now also includes Miami Valley Hospital Beavercreek Emergency Center, which opened in 2022.
