The DAISY Award
Premier Health is pleased to recognize our nurses with The DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical expertise our nurses bring to patients every day. Presented by the Premier Nursing Recognition Committee, the DAISY Award at Premier Health is funded as a core component of our recognition efforts.
Patients, family members, physicians and fellow staff are invited to nominate a nurse for The DAISY Award. Nomination forms are provided in public areas throughout Premier Health facilities. The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
