In additional to traditional surgery, Premier Surgical Oncology offers minimally invasive surgery options for some conditions. Robotic surgery performed with the advanced da Vinci Xi® Surgical System is one type of minimally invasive surgery. It enables surgeons to perform complex procedures using small, rather than large, incisions (cuts). Your surgeon makes only a few small incisions to insert a camera and tiny instruments into the body. Your surgeon is always in control of the camera and robotic instruments. Only a few stitches are used to close the incisions.
Patients may benefit from less pain, scarring blood loss and infection risk, as well as a shorter hospital stay, reduced recovery time and quicker return to normal activities.
