Services

Miami County Surgeons, serving Miami County and the surrounding areas, strives to provide high quality surgical services. You can count on us from the most routine surgical procedures to advanced techniques that may enhance your overall health and quality of life.

Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures

Many surgical procedures can be performed using less invasive laparoscopic techniques, requiring a smaller incision than traditional open surgeries. Some laparoscopic procedures can be performed with robotic assistance allowing for greater precision than traditional laparoscopy. Using a robot allows the physician to perform the procedure with instruments more flexible than human wrists, providing three-dimensional images to guide him. This usually means faster healing and less scarring for the patient.

Robot Assisted Hernia Repair

Our surgeons are skilled and experienced in Laparoscopic Hernia Repair, a minimally-invasive treatment. A hernia occurs when organs or tissues protrude through an opening in the abdomen. Our laparoscopic procedure can correct a hernia using small incisions, often meaning less discomfort and a faster return to the activities you enjoy.

Robot Assisted Nissen Fundoplication for Hiatal Hernias

Hiatal hernia is a condition in which part of the stomach protrudes through an opening in the diaphragm in a person’s chest. The condition can cause stomach acid to flow into the esophagus, a disorder known as acid reflux.

In a Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication, our board-certified physicians can repair this type of hernia by tightening or blocking the opening through which the stomach has pushed. This robotic procedure is done with small, precise camera-equipped instruments maneuvered by the surgeon. This minimally-invasive surgery often causes less bleeding and pain than open procedures and shorter length of hospital stay for our patients.

Robot Assisted Colon Resections

Laparoscopic Colon Resection, or colectomy, is a partial removal of the colon to treat diseases like cancer, diverticulitis, or inflammatory conditions. In this procedure, the surgeon removes a section of the colon and attaches the remaining portions together.

Our laparoscopic procedure is a less-invasive way of performing this operation. It requires smaller, fewer incisions, and is done with greater precision than open procedures. Our board-certified specialists are experienced in Laparoscopic Colon Resection and use patient-centric care to help our patients recover and return their daily activities.

LINX® Reflux Management System

This minimally invasive procedure places a flexible ring of small magnets around the lower part of the esophagus, just above the stomach, to help prevent acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). LINX is intended for patients diagnosed with GERD as defined by abnormal pH testing, and who are seeking an alternative to continuous acid suppression medication therapy.
