Why this program: I chose Miami Valley Hospital because of its strong clinical reputation, diverse patient population, and designation as a Level I Trauma Center. The program’s broad range of rotations and emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration provide the ideal environment to grow into a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. Additionally, the supportive culture, commitment to mentorship, and opportunities for professional development through research and layered learning foster an atmosphere where residents are both challenged and supported, ultimately preparing them to excel in any clinical setting.
Post Residency Plans: After completing my PGY1 residency, I hope to pursue a PGY2 in critical care and become board certified in pharmacotherapy.

Why this program: I chose Miami Valley Hospital’s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program because of its strong reputation as a teaching hospital and the wide range of clinical specialty opportunities it offers. Having worked as a pharmacy intern at Miami Valley throughout pharmacy school, I experienced firsthand the institution’s supportive environment. I was honored to remain part of the network that helped shape my professional growth. Miami Valley's program is committed to developing the next generation of clinical pharmacists through diverse learning experiences and dedicated mentorship from advisors, preceptors, and staff. I found that Miami Valley Hospital is the ideal place for me to complete my PGY1 residency while continuing to serve the Dayton community I call home. 
Post Residency Plans: I plan to become board certified after the completion of my PGY1 residency and pursue further PGY2 training.

The Level I Trauma Center serving the Dayton area offers a dynamic learning environment that provides various unique opportunities for pharmacy residents. I was especially drawn to the supportive pharmacy preceptor team and the dedication to patient centered care at Miami Valley Hospital.

Why this program: Miami Valley Hospital serves as a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke and Burn Center for the Dayton area. The program also offers a diverse range of rotation opportunities including various critical care options and infectious disease for a very well-rounded experience as a first-year pharmacist. The staff and preceptors are also very welcoming and dedicated to learner success, making Miami Valley Hospital an excellent place to start a career.

Why this program: I completed my PGY1 residency at Miami Valley Hospital and chose to stay for a second year to focus on the critically ill population. Miami Valley Hospital’s designation as a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Burn Center allows for extensive exposure to high-acuity patients and complex cases. The supportive, team-oriented environment—fostered by dedicated preceptors and collaborative healthcare professionals—has continually challenged me to grow as a clinician and deepened my passion for critical care at this institution.
Post Residency Plans: I plan to become board certified in critical care and pursue a career as a clinical specialist in critical care.

Professional Interests: Cardiovascular ICU, Medical ICU
Why this program: This program was the most warm and welcoming when interviewing for a PGY2 CC residency. The opportunity to work with high-acuity patients and be able to practice in a variety of different ICU settings was definitely what drew me in, but knowing I would be working alongside all these good-hearted people every day sealed the deal.
Post Residency Plans: Obtain board certification in critical care and a clinical specialist position in this field. Seek out opportunities in different areas where I can become more involved in precepting.
