Is atrial fibrillation (A Fib) a common problem?

Atrial fibrillation is very common in the American population and really throughout the world. This rhythm is a chaotic rhythm that arises from the top chambers of the heart, or the atrium, and can actually drive the heart to go quite fast; 120, 130, 160 or 180 beats-per-minute in some individuals. This rhythm also carries with it a small risk for blood clots or strokes.
