I think it’s good to draw the parallel. Cubital tunnel syndrome is very similar to carpal tunnel syndrome in that, they're both pinched nerves in the arm. The difference is that, carpal tunnel syndrome is a pinched nerve at the wrist, and it's the median nerve. And cubital tunnel syndrome is pinched nerve at the elbow, and it's the ulnar nerve. Patients experience different symptoms from each of them. Carpal tunnel syndrome is usually numbness and tingling more on the thumb side, whereas, cubital tunnel syndrome is numbness and tingling more on the pinky side.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is more common, and is much more commonly treated with surgery. But, cubital tunnel syndrome is still a fairly common condition that many, many patients experience.
