What is a revision total knee replacement?

Revision total knee replacement is simply the exchange of one of the parts of a knee replacement during surgery, one or all of the parts. A total knee replacement is made up of the femoral component which is on your thigh bone, the tibial component on your tibia or your leg bone, the plastic polyethylene piece in between and the plastic piece underneath your kneecap bone. During a revision total knee, one or all of these parts can be replaced.
