Peripheral arterial disease, or PAD, is a lifetime condition. It’s a chronic abnormality. Even after it’s fixed, it is a disease that can progress over time. And therefore, it’s not a one stop shop. If you have peripheral arterial disease and have been treated by a physician, you need to keep seeing that physician, or another physician, for ongoing treatment and evaluation.
