How much education is needed to become an electrophysiologist?

Training in electrophysiology involves one to two years of additional training beyond that of general cardiology. All cardiologists go through internal medicine training that lasts approximately three years, and then cardiology trading typically is four years. On top of that, electrophysiologists train an additional one to two years to work in their specialty working with abnormal heart rhythm.
