I think one of the most important things that you can do to lower your risk of cervical cancer is to make sure that you're being followed for well woman care, that you're seeing an OB-GYN or your family practice doctor who is normally completing your pap tests and talk with them about vaccinations for cervix cancer. In the same way that it's important that you go out and get your flu shot or vaccines for other different diseases, HPV, I think, is one of the places that we can make the biggest impact with vaccination.
Importantly, making sure that you follow up with your paps. A lot of times after moms have their children and they get busier taking care of their family and just things of life, sometimes it falls off to the side of getting pap tests. I think that's a really important thing to remember. Take care of yourself. Part of that means getting your pap test every few years.
