Are there times when I should follow-up with my primary care provider after visiting an urgent care?

If a patient presents to the urgent care and has a condition that is treated there, generally speaking, it is a good idea to follow up with the primary care physician. It is not always necessary for them to follow up immediately, but if they were seen for something, especially if it is something that requires some ongoing treatment, such as their blood pressure was elevated, they certainly should follow up with their primary care physician.
