What do electrophysiologists do that is different from other cardiologists?

Electrophysiologists differ from other cardiologists in that they specialize in the electrical system of the heart. Most cardiologists deal with abnormalities in the coronary arteries or the plumbing system of the heart, or problems with the pumping of the heart; heart function such as heart failure. Electrophysiologists deal with abnormal heart rhythms that maybe too fast or too slow and treat those rhythms through various interventions.
